ABOUT US
The Episcopal Church of the Advent is an open and affirming church where all are welcome regardless of sexual orientation, race, financial ability, where you live, and even your religious tradition.
We respect and celebrate the dignity and miraculous individuality of each of God's children. We hope for the chance to invite you just as you are into our church family.
St Thomas Deaf Church and Advent made a partnership in 2021 so that all can worship on Sunday mornings. ASL interpreters are available at our 10 AM service. Reverend Emily leads worship and offers pastoral care to members of both churches in their own language.
We believe that God is calling the people of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri to transform our churches, our communities, and our world to reflect more and more God's dream found in Jesus Christ. A dream that calls us to be a people who seek to be followers of Jesus who are forgiven, healed, strengthened and renewed. We seek a deeper connection with god and with each other as we journey together.
~Right Reverend Bishop Deon K Johnson

Our Mission Prayer
We thank you, God, for giving us joy and energizing us by opening our lives to You, to Your Word, and to each other. Shape us to live full, gracious and unpretentious lives through our worship, our humor and our support of each other. Help us to extend what we receive here into the communities where we live and work and to invite all into the joy of this mission. Through Christ, whose Body we are.
Amen.
Whether you are here for the first time or have been in church all your life; whether you are liberal, conservative, independent or progressive; whether you are urban, suburban, rural or no place to lay your head; whether you are rich, dead broke, old, young, straight, gay, Trans, non-binary, arriving with a busload of kids, coming alone, firm in your faith or filled with doubts, God brought you here and we welcome you… just as you are!
